EMBARK ON A FOOD JOURNEY AROUND SCOTLAND, RIGHT FROM YOUR TABLE!

Ghillie Dhu Food

We love talking about food, so before we tell you about our menu, let’s begin with an interesting fact about Scottish food… Who knew that it was the Vikings who brought the Scandinavian salting and smoking methods to Scotland? The first people to settle in Scotland were hunter-gatherers. With our rich resources, such as fertile soil, an abundance of fresh waters for fishing and healthy cattle stock, we were able to master the art of creating wonderful hearty Scottish fayre over the years.. If you have a healthy appetite, you’ve come to the right place. At Ghillie Dhu, our traditional Scottish menu will have your taste buds dancing..

What could be better than dishes lovingly crafted from stunning local produce we’re lucky to have here in Scotland? When you tuck into our menu, you’re off on a journey around Scotland with every bite. You’ll have fresh seafood caught in the waters of Peterhead, lamb from Inverurie, mussels from Shetland, chicken from Grampian, duck from Gartmorn, venison from Ardgay, beef from Orkney, scallops from the Isle of Barra, cheddar from the Isle of Mull and you probably catch the drift…

Ghillie Dhu Food

We enjoy spoiling you with the seasonal produce of the moment and we regularly rotate our menu according to what’s available locally. Our August menu is really something special. For starters, have a nibble at the Rillettes of Lobster and Roast Smoked Salmon or Potted Loch Fine Peppered Mackerel. Moving on to heartier plates, you just have to taste the Pan Roasted Atlantic Sea Trout, the Corn Fed Grampian Chicken stuffed with Herbed Crowdie and the Braised Beef Cheek Pie. There are plenty more dishes to choose from of course, have a little browse of the menu for yourself and see what takes your fancy. If you’ve left room for pudding, you must indulge in the Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Torte with tablet ice cream or the Gooseberry and Coconut Panacotta with Amaretti Biscuits..

Ghillie Dhu Food

With all that eating, you will be thirsty, so we recommend a little something to wash it down. Sip a tipple or two from our extensive Drinks and Drams menu, where we have a generous whisky selection along with cocktails, wines and lots of other lovely things. Rest assured you will be suitably fed and watered.
