Raised Area
Our raised section in our public main bar downstairs offers a unique experience at The Ghillie Dhu. With cozy booth seating accommodating up to 60 guests and additional standing room, it’s the ideal spot to gather with friends or colleagues. Adding to the ambiance, a dedicated area hosts live music performances, creating an intimate yet lively atmosphere where guests can enjoy talented musicians up close while savouring our extensive drink selection and warm Scottish hospitality. This versatile space is perfect for semi-private dining, hen or stag parties, or informal gatherings, providing a memorable setting for any occasion.
snugs
Our cosy snugs are the ideal spot for some after work drinks or to grab a spot of lunch. Each of our large booths can seat up to 14 guests and our smaller tables can seat up to 4 guests.
We have a selection of table packages that can be hired alongside our snugs for the perfect get together. The perfect accompaniment to some live sporting action or simply just a catch up with friends.

Auditorium
Our breathtaking Auditorium is a stunning example of architecture. With ornate cornicing, high ceilings and authentic oak panelling, this space truly is one of a kind. This is the ideal venue for wedding ceremonies, corporate or private events and just about any other special occasion you can think of.
We have a selection of set menus which can to be tailored to suit the needs of your event. Alternatively if you have something special in mind our dedicated chefs can create your very own bespoke menu that can be enjoyed on the day.

Our whisky garden at The Ghillie Dhu, located on Shandwick Place, welcomes guests throughout the summer to enjoy Edinburgh’s sunshine. Inspired by our iconic red doors, the garden exudes a vibrant atmosphere, providing the perfect setting to savour an ice-cold pint, meticulously chilled cocktail or indulge in a whisky flight experience curated to showcase Scotland’s finest whiskies.
Outdoor tables are available year-round on a walk-in basis, as advanced bookings are not accepted due to Edinburgh’s unpredictable weather. Please note that if there’s a sudden change in weather, we may not be able to accommodate indoor seating.
