The best day of our lives. If you’re pondering the idea of booking the Ghillie Dhu- do it! It is a stunning venue that is so unique right in the heart of Edinburgh, we had most of our guests travel from Ireland/ Australia/ Canada and it was a perfect location for plentiful hotels. The venue itself was breathtaking, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our wedding coordinator from the venue Amy Davies was incredible. She took care of us so well, and the day was so seamless and smooth. It really was the most magical day. I’ll never stop looking at our pics. Thank you to the Ghillie Dhu team- all the staff were fabulous and so hospitable. Thank you thank you!

We held our evening wedding celebration at Ghillie Dhu on 28th March 2025, with just seven weeks to plan it (as we were married abroad) — and it was absolutely perfect. The venue itself was stunning, and the staff were professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient throughout the night. We opted for the hot fork buffet, catered by Ghillie Dhu, and it exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the variety of choices meant that even our guests with the most unusual allergies were well looked after. But the true star of the show was Amy, Ghillie Dhu’s wedding coordinator. From the moment we got in touch, Amy was a dream to work with. She was responsive, flexible, and incredibly supportive, answering all our questions with ease — even arranging Zoom calls with us while we were still abroad. Her organisation was flawless; she thought of everything so we didn’t have to. On the day itself, Amy was there every step of the way, making sure everything ran like clockwork. She was so friendly and warm, it genuinely felt like our best friend was running the event. She was always one step ahead, keeping a watchful eye to make sure we were happy and relaxed. Amy is absolutely in the right job — she’s phenomenal at what she does, and we truly can’t thank her enough for helping make our celebration so special!

We can’t recommend the Ghillie Dhu highly enough. It goes without saying that the venue is beautiful and well placed within the city, but every aspect of the day met those same high standards. The food was excellent and many of our guests have reached out to us since to say how much they enjoyed it. The drinks package was well received and great value. The decor and stationery provided by the venue all looked brilliant. The staff were all pleasant and more than accommodating to any of our needs. Our wedding co-ordinator Amy was unbelievably helpful in the build up and throughout the day. She was always on hand to deal with any queries we had and was open and adaptable to any changes we wanted to make to the running order/schedule. She was always friendly and personable which helped to put aside any wedding day nerves. We can’t thank the Ghillie Dhu enough for their part in our day.

We had our wedding at Ghillie Dhu May 2025 and I could not have asked for a better venue! The team were helpful and accommodating and the coordinator, Amy, was fantastic. From answering every email, to setting up the room and noting down everything that was requested, the whole day flowed seamlessly. The ceremony and drinks reception were in the garden which was beautiful. The food and drink was delicious and great portion sizes. We had guests coming up to us all night to say how brilliant it was. Thank you so much!

I got married at the Ghillie Dhu in April 2025. The venue was perfect and all our guests were in awe with how stunning it was. I planned the wedding from overseas and Amy Davies the wedding coordinator is amazing. She helped me plan the wedding for months and answered all my questions and queries. I didn’t arrive in Edinburgh until a week before and there were no issues or last minute follow ups because everything had been handled already by Amy and all I had to do was show up. Her calm presence eased my nerves and she was on hand all day to make our wedding flow perfectly from start to finish. The food was amazing and huge portions and all our guests were so happy with how good it was. We highly recommend Ghillie Dhu and Amy Davies for the perfect wedding in the city. Thank you so much!-

Our wedding at Ghillie Dhu was absolutely exceptional from viewing the venue, everything in between to the special day. Emma was absolutely amazing, would answer any questions I had, always kept us in the loop and was there every step of the way! The day of the wedding couldn’t have gone better, everything ran as smoothly as we could’ve hoped for and that is all thanks to Emma for being incredible! We would highly recommend having your wedding at this stunning venue!

Emma was the most perfect wedding coordinator. From the day we first met Emma she was so patient, helpful, kind and fun. Our day was so wonderful from start to finish all thanks to Emma, Tyla and the team at the Ghillie Dhu being so brilliant. Couldn't recommend the Ghillie Dhu enough. Our wedding day at the Ghillie-Dhu was just perfect. The venue is spectacular and seeing the room in a "ceremony configuration" was breathtaking. All was seamless. The location is ideal: it can difficultly be more central, and we just had to step out for fabulous views over the Castle. Emma Clouston was the perfect event manager, linking with all providers (flowers, cake), band and photographer beforehand and making sure everything was in place and everyone knew where they had to be at the right time. Communication with Emma was exceptional over the months that led to the event. The food, staff and entertainment were superb. It was a magical day, and all the guests keep talking about how much they loved it! We are so glad we had our wedding at the Ghillie-Dhu, and that Emma managed our event. It was perfect. Thank you so much!.

We just wanted to say another massive thank you to both Emma & Tyla for making our day amazing. We enjoyed every single moment and it was all down to you guys! The venue looked absolutely stunning. Right from when I arrived with dad at the back door and you were fixing his button hole, to leaving after 1am it was all just so perfect!! The band absolutely loved the venue too!

We couldn't have asked for a more amazing day at Ghillie Dhu. We're a Canadian couple who had our small destination wedding in Edinburgh with mostly Canadian guests. From start to finish, we felt at ease with the wedding planning process, and our wedding day went so smoothly - absolutely perfect. Emma at Ghillie Dhu helped us so much, and truly went above and beyond, helping us with every little detail. We've been raving non-stop about how amazing our wedding was to everyone who couldn't attend, and we've heard such amazing feedback from our guests about the ceremony and reception. The food tasted so delicious and Ghillie Dhu was able to cater a completely vegan wedding with delicious and thoughtful menu options. This was truly our dream wedding and we can't say enough good things about Ghillie Dhu.

We had a perfect day in the beautiful setting of the Ghillie Dhu. It is a stunning venue and all of our guests commented on how spectacular it looked. Our wedding coordinator, Emma, was extremely thorough and made sure everything ran smoothly - this helped to make the day really enjoyable for us. The Ghillie Dhu include many things in their package that other venues often don’t, such as table decorations and stationery. We loved having our wedding at such an iconic Edinburgh landmark and will enjoy going back in to remember the day in the future. Definitely would recommend this venue for a stress free wedding with the wow factor

We just wanted to say a massive, massive thank you for being so fabulous at organising our wonderful wedding yesterday at the Ghillie Dhu. We honestly had the most perfect day and we couldn't have asked or wished for anything more!! From the moment we met you, we knew our wedding would be amazing and we were not let down yesterday!! We couldn't think of getting married anywhere else or have had anyone else plan it so well for us.

Despite meeting Amy with only a couple of months to go until our wedding, we were filled with confidence that she understood our requirements and vision for the day. We were immediately put at ease and knew we could rely on her for our special day. On the day Amy was calm and reassuring at every turn. Amy blended into the background and popped up as soon as we needed her. She had timings, guest and vendors under control the whole day and was on hand for a very stressed out bride after the meal. You definitely have a natural attention to detail and calming manner so I can see why you're so good at your job! From the moment we stepped into the breath-taking auditorium space, we knew the Ghillie Dhu was the one for us! Being a ‘Pinterest bride’, I had so many bespoke options I wanted to incorporate into our day, and from start to finish nothing was ever a trouble. From the hiring of the gold chairs to match the colour scheme, to the ‘Prosecco and Peroni’ reception, the bespoke food options to the ‘Mexican Nacho Bar’ in the evening. You offered us an amazing package as it was, but by going above and beyond, you helped make our day so personal to us.

From the get-go, Kirsty was nothing other than Out of this World in every aspect of the role. Her communication, organisation and general enthusiasm for every detail kept our levels of confidence at the highest level - right from our first meeting right through until after the day had been and gone. Kirsty’s passion for perfection and sheer professionalism kept us feeling great - small amendments required on the day which may have been seen as a big deal were completed discreetly and with such finesse that it would have gone completely unnoticed to anyone who was unaware. She is truly out of this world and we couldn't have asked for a better person to help make our day as beautiful as we both imagined. Thank you!!!
