Available Sunday to Thursday, 12 noon – 4pm, our elopement package is £800 and offers a beautifully relaxed way to celebrate your marriage.

What are the minimum and maximum numbers of guests?
Our minimum guest count is 60 (Sunday-Thursday Wedding) and 70 (Friday & Saturday Wedding), and our maximum guest count is 150 for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and 180 for evening guests.

We have detailed below our recommended timeline; however, this is fully adaptable.

Where does the ceremony, drink reception and the wedding breakfast take place?
Your wedding ceremony takes place in our award-winning wedding venue auditorium with a candle lit organ as a beautiful backdrop and draped curtains to create an intimate warm atmosphere. Afterwards, head down our spiral staircase and we will gather your guests for a confetti toss at our picturesque front door. Guests will then be welcomed into our Main Bar for canapes and drinks whilst you get your first photographs together as Mr and Mrs. Our Edinburgh Auditorium will then be transformed into the perfect space for your guests to enjoy their wedding breakfast before dancing the night away.
What is the process of planning a wedding at Ghillie Dhu?
Enquire with our wedding Co-Ordinator and chose your ideal wedding date before placing a deposit of £1000 to secure it. A year prior to your wedding date, we will book you in for a detail planning meeting and your menu tasting. Our wedding co-ordinator will be on hand to book further meetings with throughout the planning process. We require guests numbers and food pre-orders 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding date and payment must be made two weeks in advance.
Do you offer menu tasting?
Yes, we offer menu tasting for up to four guests. Enjoy a glass of fizz and trying a sample wedding menu paired with wine that is served on your wedding day.
Is it possible to offer a choice menu for our guests?
We will now be offering 1 choice for each course as standard, with vegetarians and other requirements being catered for seperatly. If couples wish to offer a choice menu, there is a surcharge of £5 per person
Is there a Bar in the Auditorium?
Yes, we have a fully stocked bar with an extensive range of drink options. This is hidden behind the draped curtains during your ceremony.
Is there any on-site accommodation?
We do not have on-site accommodation; however our sister venues are just a short journey from the city centre, and we offer exclusive deals for wedding couples and wedding party guests.
Is the venue fully accessible?
Yes, our venue is fully accessible. We have an extendable ramp for entry, a lift to the auditorium level and accessible bathrooms on both the ground and upper floor.
Can someone be our MC?
Our wedding-co-ordinator attends full-day weddings and MCs for couples.
Do you provide Decor?
We have our own on-site decor including silver chairs, thisle pot and candlestick centrepieces, white or black linen and purple or white napkins.

Do you have a microphone for speeches?
We have two wireless microphones that can be used for speeches.
Do you have in-house entertainment?
Yes, we have a range of cover bands, ceilidh bands, DJs and more.
Do you have a list of recommended suppliers?
Ask our wedding co-ordinator for our little purple book of recommend wedding suppliers.
Will we be able to come in to set things up the day before?
Our wedding co-ordinator will set up your wedding the morning of the big day. We will arrange a date best for drop off and then you can sit back and relax before your wedding.
